Still very achy, particularly (for no apparent reason) my left ankle. Can't sleep because my sinuses and the glands in my neck are hurting like crazy, and because if I try to lie down I start coughing uncontrollably. I at least now have more tea, which is a Good Thing, and I'm hoping medicine will at some point do something about the rest. Not a happy kitten...

Any suggestion that people's genes are fixed in one particular way from the moment of conception is wrong. The expression ''bisexual''—I am never quite sure what it means—is now a commonplace in the language. It suggests that people can change their sexual proclivities at different stages of their life. That is a fact of life.
