Curled up in bed. My throat feels as if someone has sandpapered it while I wasn't looking, strange things keep running out of my nose between bursts of sneezing, and everything aches. Add to which that I can barely keep my eyes open, despite having had a very early night last night...

So, obviously a good day for the telephone to keep ringing every ten minutes. People must think my company has a yeti for a receptionist...

I suppose it wouldn't be very helpful to mention that the cold that seems to be going around starts exactly like that, and most everyone I know who's had it (including me)has taken three weeks to recover?

No - probably wouldn't be helpful...

I recommend a delicate balance of Jaffa Cakes and maximum strength painkillers.

Three weeks would not make the customer who wants a demo by the end of the month happy, nor, I fear, would it make me very happy.

You've seen my approach to "delicate balance of Jaffa Cakes", meaning "how many can boxes can I carry without falling over?". Currently on Lemsip Cold & Flu tablets, which seem to contain most things one might consider taking, all rolled into one convenient capsule about the size of ones fist... Feeling rather tea-deprived at the moment; I should probably go and see if I can guilt someone into making me some by sitting in the corner of the office miaowing plaintively.
