Getting an early night Oops. Missed :-)

It's been a generally pleasant weekend. Friday evening was spent feeling generally rather more conscious than I've been for most of the week, so we curled up in bed and watched Run Lola Run. I'd seen most of the film on Thursday, and found it wonderfully engaging, but had been distracted by a combination of being ill and subsequently being asleep, so it was good to see the whole thing; Liz had never seen it before, but also really enjoyed it.

Saturday spent catching up on life, doing the shopping, then off to do medical things while Liz took the children to The Big Draw, at the Museum of Arch and Anth, along with her mum and the children's cousins. They had lots of fun doing textile-y things; I had rather less, but such is life... A nice family dinner together in the evening, with children being generally delightful despite tiredness.

Today: to church, where (following general unpleasantness at my previous church) I took communion for the first time in several months, which was wonderful. It feels like coming home; I can't really adequately describe it. Went to the grad pad for drinks, then home for lunch, joined on a mutual whim by [livejournal.com profile] elise, who was entertaining company (although I think a little surprised at times by rather hyperactive children...) A gentle afternoon of children taking advantage of nice weather to play outside, cooking more things, finishing the lunchtime bottle of wine and eating too much chocolate.

All gentle and unspectacular, but nicely relaxing. I've just rounded off the day by finally getting to see the whole of Alien 3 in one go, without either falling asleep or squeaking and running away, accompanied by more tea and chocolate while wrapped up warmly in bed. Oh, and having inane discussions in other people's LJ's, of course, but that's not exactly news :)

G'night, all!
