Domesticity, mostly

deborah_cA few fairly quiet days... On Sunday, we took the children to Norfolk to stay with grandparents for a few days, so we've had four very quiet days. Liz set to to redecorate one of their bedrooms while they were elsewhere, so she's been keeping fairly busy; meanwhile, I've been indulging in a mixture of trying to sort out one or two other bits of the house, catching up on missed sleep, and work. Meanwhile, some less busy evenings have given us a much-needed chance to spend time talking and getting to know each other better again.
Sunday also gave me a chance to go to a chapel service, which was a very pleasant change -- not least being the first time in two months I've been able to take communion. It's a shame that term ends so soon; there will be a rather long gap until the new term starts in October. Still, three weeks of respite will have been very welcome. I need to start looking for a new church, but this has at least given me some breathing space.
Film club last night paired another two films I didn't know at all, one rather surreal, one rather beautiful until it degenerated into the more conventional toward the end. Both seemed to have themes in that have contributed to the chaos that's currently inside my head, though... There are so many new thoughts, feelings, different points of view to think through that it's rather bewildering. Good films, nonetheless, and not ones I'd have thought to watch by myself; good company, too.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sunflowerinrain crashed here afterwards, and we had a long and interesting chat in the morning.
Today was marred only by a stomach bug hitting later in the day, but I'm now mostly back to rights, I think. Hopefully I'll be properly up and about tomorrow: the plan is to explore Strawberry Fair, and then take the children to see the new Harry Potter film. We might just get sidetracked into the occasional bookshop, too, with any luck...
Oh, and seeing a friend back with her boyfriend is, once again, a joy to behold. Young love... sigh. They're terribly sweet together :)
