Slept badly (read: not very much at all until it was basically morning), so I ended up sleeping in this morning. In the afternoon I really wanted to get out of the house, while the girls wanted to do some cooking (with ingredients we didn't have). So, we compromised, went for a quick shop at Tesco, then a brisk walk around Milton Country Park together, to which we allegedly took an apple, a baseball bat, a carrot, a didgeridoo, an elephant, a foghorn, a goat, some Haribo sweets, an inflatable igloo, the Junior Choir, a kangaroo, the London Eye, a monster, 35 nails, some origami (so the kangaroo wouldn't get bored), a picnic table, a quasar in a quart pot, a Rachel, twenty million sandwiches (we have to feed the animals something, after all), a toilet, the Underground system, a vase, some water, a xylophone, a yacht, and a zebra. Fortunately we have a big car, and while dogs have to be kept on leads in part of the park, it doesn't say anything about the rest of our menagerie!
Returned home, where I made turkey, ham and leek pie with R, while A made flapjack (with a little help). Play-doh was also played with (well, what else would one do with it?) A generally pleasant time for everyone, I think. Liz is now trying to make the company accounts balance, while I contemplate (at length) clearing up the kitchen (sadly, also at some length).
