For some reason, this morning I'm feeling particularly happy and bouncy, which is a pleasant surprise. A nice visit (although being woken by the warning phone call was a little bit of a shock... panic panic panic for fifteen minutes!) from a friend (WIAFAIKNOLJ) who was over in Cambridge for the morning. Admittedly I did angst at her just a little bit, but I'm back to being bouncy now :-)

Anyway, since I haven't acted on any memes for, oh, at least 12 hours, here's one that leaves me feeling unaccountably even more bouncy, courtesy of nhw:

The last time this one came around, I don't appear to have posted the results, probably because the biggest clique I was in was about four people. The concept of actually having lots of friends still feels rather wonderful, though :-)

Having lots of friends is great, though can be embarassing, as when I didn't notice keris had passed her driving test until blooddoll3 told me to go back and look at the entry!

Interestingly enough, the only cliques I'm a member of are the geek cliques .. maybe goths just form loops? :-)

Actually, nine of the members of the four cliques are common: they're a cartesian product of two non-mutual pairings. </geek>

Call me thick, but i'm not really sure what these stats prove.

I apparently am in 4 cliques of 10, but it doesn't say why or what interest groups we have in common, what does the string of names mean?

Oh, they don't prove anything. They're sets of people all of whom have all of the others in their friends lists. (Which, of course, don't necessarily list friends, and aren't necessarily exhaustive even if they do!)

It doesn't stop me feeling bouncy about being included, though *smile*

Curiously, I'm not sure that one can define cliqueiness by how many people are in the clique; at some point one can hardly call it a clique (with the overtones of exclusivity and closedness) any more. Odd, really :-)

I think it works best if you have several distinct groups of friends. My list separates my college friends from my Calling friends pretty neatly, and shuffles the few odds'n'sods off into uncliquish oblivion.

Umm. My colleagues might appreciate my doing some work, and sleeping at night. As might my family, for that matter...

I suppose I could sleep now and work at the weekend instead, but... umm, different people might get annoyed about that :-)

Me too - the same three. I was imagining the histories people would form a clique of 21 though. Who hasn't added whom, I wonder...

It depends if the people not in common between them are prepared to be really snarky at each other, I think :)

The top of the 3 cliques above isn't a histories clique - far too many non-histories people in it. The bottom 2 are entirely histories people, in fact they only differ by atreic and libellum, who should therefore add each other to make a clique of 19. The 2 remaining missing are the_lady_lily, who's been on my friends list since the start of my LJ, and strongtrousers who I've added just this minute, partly becasue I should have done it a few weeks back, and partly because forming a bigger clique is a perfectly sensible reason to add someone, of course. Um.
