The music industry appears to want to equate sharing music to terrorism.

That's funny, I thought the music industry had been killed by home taping....

:o...
I'd say "blow them all up" but that would be sort of defeating the point. So I say, bitchslap them all and make them listen to Hear'Say for a week.

Frankly, given the monstrous things they're trying to do to (suspected) terrorists, even equating terrorism to terrorism is on shaky ground…

...but that's what they'll do, as long as they can keep this terror fad going, to more and more things that threaten profitability. Only terrorists share music. Only terrorists grow and eat their own food. Only terrorists boycott Wal-Mart. Only terrorists vote Democrat. (That last one, of course, not necessary over here, as they have us whichever way we vote.)

They also want the right to levy taxes. And exclude competitors. And a pony. And the moon. Onna stick.

It seems a common trick - bring in extreme new laws "only for terrorists", and then later quietly extend the laws to apply to all sorts of other situtations.

Given that computer hacking is sometimes considered terrorism, perhaps we should be saying Sony are terrorists, with its recent anti-piracy software...

That's because if we share music, then the terrorists will win.

Oh but don't you see!?

Music, movie and softeware piracy IS terrorism!

The ability for huge conglomerate companies to be hideously wealthy and use the law to thier own ends by putting industry oressure on governments is the foundation of capitalism, which is what separates us from commies!

Downloading an album from Sony is like blowing up buses on the information superhighway, it's undermining the values of our society!!

It's not new, they have been successful in equating it with piracy and Grand Theft so terrorism is just the next logical stage. Using the principle of "Do unto others as they would do unto you -- but do it first" it would seem logical to take them out with some real WMD to see if they can learn the difference...
