Today was organised around a medical appointment at a slightly inconvenient time. I had to book it two months in advance, and the only available time clashed with a company meeting, which therefore had to be moved. So, you can imagine how pleased I felt to get there and find not S, the person who I booked to see (and who's there only once a month or so), but her colleague N. Since the entire point of booking to see S was that I'd had both bad side-effects and little useful benefit when treated by N, I was a little peeved.

Just to add to the fun, this treatment has to be interleaved with another kind; I've had to stop that for a couple of weeks to avoid them clashing with each other. So, not only have I not had either therapy for the last two weeks, but I will now need to cancel next week's planned session, in order (hopefully) to see someone competent to do what should have been done today. We're then away for a fortnight, so it will be an even longer break, which is a bad thing in itself; I also won't have had a chance for the side-effects of treatment to die down before I go away, which is only an annoyance but still not helpful.

I did try a short session of retail therapy in an effort to cheer myself up slightly, but that's just left me feeling guilty about spending the enormous sum of six pounds. Grumph.

Edit: And my nice GP has gone on maternity leave unexpectedly early, so Wednesday's appointment is cancelled too, and I have to sort out some treatment issues with someone new. Double grumph.
