Little things please little minds

It's odd how such little things can lift one's mood so much! After a little wait, my name change seems to be taking effect. Last week, our polling cards for next month's elections turned up, mine resplendent in my new name, which is somehow rather satisfying. This morning, my new driving licence arrived too, and had the same effect (despite the slightly gruesome photograph). It definitely leaves me with a warm glow inside, though :)

Sadly, passport photo machines take a great deal less care than the (mutual) friend who took this one. It doesn't help when you're also trying to herd three small children through the machine without taking the entire weekend, either :)
