Four miles each way to and from church on the bike, then another two going to meet the children coming back from their church in the village. Surprisingly, I'm not feeling too bad after this, despite only having ridden a mile or two at a time recently, and before that having not gone anywhere on the bike for three years or so.

I'm feeling rather smug about this, if slightly sweaty :-)

I'm particularly happy since church is half a mile or so on past where our new offices are, and I've been rather worried about how well I'd cope with cycling into work every day. Of course, this morning it was gently breezy and not raining, which helps. Unlike yesterday, when we cycled into the village in a complete downpour :-)

Cycling in the rain is deeply unpleasant. I'd take the tube if I were you. I think you'll find four miles very manageable though: it's roughly equivalent to a one mile walk.

Oh yes, particularly on a recumbent, where you're less upright. Presumably the tube is one that eviltwinemma's Vikings have been digging? I didn't know that the underground extended as far as Impington...

If you're worried about cycling to work, I'll trade the information that there's a nifty back entrance that puts you out near Alpha road, and there's some on-street parking out there if you think you're hard enough to find it :-), for not being turfed off my nice new desk and moved next to the printer whilst I'm off working elsewhere this week ... :-).

Oh, I'm no longer all that worried. I was, because I was expecting to get about as far as the A14 before feeling as if I was dying, but that didn't happen. Does that mean I can steal your desk, then? :-)

Ah. Having now visited the office, I now understand that by "my nice new desk" you mean "the one that you chose but which I stole and moved into when you weren't looking". Grr... :-)

Who, sweet, innocent little me? *looks all innocent* :-) - sorry! I didn't realise anyone had baggsied it ... feel free to boot me if you're desperate - I am kind of the only person who doesn't technically need one (especially just at present ..).

Anyway, I'd say that just goes to show we both have impeccable taste. And that it was the window desk furthest from the printer, obviously :-).
