Well, that was stupid.

Struggling with a more-than-usually independently minded shopping trolley, I managed to walk into one of its wheels. Hard. Unfortunately, nice as my soft leather open-toed sandals are, they don't really provide a great deal of protection against this sort of thing. I came home with the frozen peas packed around my foot, and now have a rather lacerated middle toe, which is currently throbbing and turning interesting colours.

Sigh. Boots. That's what I need, nice boots. With steel toecaps, preferably...

As my mother would explain, you broke the First Rule: Never hit anything harder than you are.

Sympathies and hugs. Hope it feels better soon.

Oww. Poor you! What you need is purple DMs with pink laces. Then let the dastardly shopping trolleys try!

I just finished the book in front of yours in my "things to read" list. You have a hope of getting it back within the next six months, if I read fast :)

It's obviously a week for feet.

A colleague at work dropped a box of course brochures on her foot on Wednesday. She has a broken bone, and is now in plaster up to the knee, and not due back in work till wedon'tknowwhen.

Mind you, she *did* miss a ...tricky... journey from Walthamstow to Harlesden on Thursday... It's an ill wind, as they say!

Give up the shopping: it's clearly dangerous. Except for clothes-shopping, of course. And books and music. Those are good for your health ;)
