Trial by Jury

For their gift day next weekend, Little St Mary's church have two performances of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Trial by Jury". The children and I are all singing, it will be lots of fun, and you should all come and see it!

Performances are at 8pm on Friday 16th June, and at 3pm on Saturday 17th June, in the church (which is next door to Peterhouse). Tickets £6 on the door.

Being horribly disorganised, however, I've lost track of exactly who's already said they're intending to come. Meep. Sorry!

I think I'm on for Friday, if I drive up straight from work, which should give me time to get there allowing for Friday evening traffic jams, and give me time to stop off somewhere for a meal. I've never driven to Cambridge - what's the best thing to do about parking?

Um. Parking in Cambridge is a little exciting. There's very little on-street parking, even in the evenings (or at least, very much less than there are cars trying to park in it), and the city centre multistorey is currently mostly demolished... The park and ride is usually the best bet, but doesn't run late enough.

You could park at our house and we could organise for less cars to go in? That might be easiest...

In that case, directions to your house would be welcome! I finish work at about 3.30-4.00pm on Friday, and it'll take me at least two hours to get to you, probably, allowing for time to eat, so I'd be there somewhere around 6pm, maybe a little later, if that's OK?

I don't really sing very well, I'm afraid, although well enough for the purposes of this week. At least, this week I can -- my voice seems randomly to lose half an octave from each end of its range from time to time, and to lose all semblance of tone control. At some point, I have to figure this out, but not right now!

I would *love* to be involved with your musical project, but unfortunately we're on a family holiday in Cornwall that day. (Yes, that may seem weird too, in light of Other Circumstances, but...) Another time, maybe? I'm also a good violinist and organist (and a slightly less good pianist) if that helps.
